Toni Paget

Professional Celebrant & MC

Why Toni you might be thinking?

Hey there!

So a bit about me...

I was lucky to find my passion in life pretty early on so even though I may look young for a celebrant, I already have years and hundreds of weddings worth of experience. I've been lucky enough to book over 70 beautiful ceremonies every year since I was registered. I have also been nominated for the “Brides Choice Awards- Gold Coast’s Best Celebrant” every year since I started! In 2021 I was lucky enough to be nominated for the first time as Gold Coast Wedding MC of the year, and I actually won too!! This tells me that I've found what I meant to be doing and my personal belief is that I really understand what the modern couple is looking for whether it be classic romance, funny or quirky. I make sure to create every element of your ceremony with you so it’s exactly the way you would like it and of course I get a kick out of hearing all the gorgeous love stories along the way!

I have a background in events, hospitality and customer service which I find has made me quite the people person. I have studied my Certificate IV in Training and Assessment which I studied with the sole purpose of passing on my passion and training new and upcoming celebrants.

When I get asked how I got into being a celebrant my answer is always the same. My own wedding! I'm a wife to my amazing husband Bradley, getting married to him was honestly the reason I became a celebrant in the first place. Our wedding was truly the best day of my life, so amazing that I was inspired to pursue working in an industry that I had never even considered. I am also a proud mum to my beautiful 9-year-old daughter, Kiana, and my cheeky 6- year-old boy, Tayo.

So I was married, decided I wanted to work in the wedding industry in some way shape or form, but in what capacity? I considered events as I am a good organiser and love a good checklist. Then I thought of my kids, they're only young once and did I really want to be spending every weekend doing 12+ hour days? No I did not, no amount of desire for the industry was worth missing them grow.

I went to a wedding at Tamborine Gardens, I sat in the pews, I watched the celebrant perform my good friends wedding ceremony and I thought to my self, "I'm going to do what she does!". It seemed like the perfect balance! The next day I researched how to be a celebrant, that same week I booked in to do my Cert IV in Celebrancy and just like that, the best decision I've ever made for myself was made.

Even with all the weddings I have now under my belt, I never get tired of seeing that heavy breathing groom nervously waiting for his gorgeous bride to walk down the aisle to the man of her dreams. It is the overwhelming feeling of love that unites everyone in a room that makes me feel so proud to be a part of the experience. In the months leading up to your celebration and especially on the big day, I will do my best to keep you calm and relaxed. There are a few legalities that need to be said during the ceremony, but the rest is totally up to you! It’s amazing for guests to hear a ceremony where every word spoken is a true reflection of your unique style and personalities.

It's important that you are comfortable with the person you choose as your celebrant and I hope I have given you a little insight into who I am. Your celebrant is there with you during a very significant time in your life and I hope to be the one standing alongside you.

Hopefully you will consider me when deciding on the right celebrant for your day and I am all too happy to answer any questions you might have!
